I am Obsessed with this small Dutch Painting
Переглядів 1 тис.6 місяців тому
I became obsessed with 'The Goldfinch,' a painting by the Dutch artist Fabritius, made famous in recent years by the author Donna Tartt. So I travelled 360 miles to have a look at it.

The True Story Behind the Cardiff Giant
Переглядів 5 тис.Рік тому
On October 16th, 1869 a group of workmen uncovered a fossilised giant just outside New York, but not everything was as it seemed... Huge thanks to the Farmers' Museum, the 'Ackley Iowa Posctards' group and 'Fort Dodge Iowa Memories' group for their help with the images throughout this video.
Thanks for trying, nextbike

I was excited when nextbike launched in Cardiff in 2018, but things quickly went downhill. Due to a bizarre amount of vandalism they had to pull out of the city. This is a video about that.
What Happened to the Free Cereal Toys From the 90s?
Переглядів 13 тис.2 роки тому
I've often wondered what happened to the discontinued cereal toys that landed in our bowls as kids, so I decided to find out. Thanks to breakfast memorabilia expert Nick Symes for his knowledge, and access to his vast archive of old cereal adverts. You can check out his impressive collection at: CerealOffers.com, or on his UA-cam channel: ua-cam.com/channels/Y921pqVLODlSQF5DnX0LjQ.html
We Made a Christmas Tree in the Middle of the Forest
Переглядів 4,7 тис.3 роки тому
It's a Christmas tradition to chop down a tree and decorate it in your living room. Jamie and I decided to cut out the middle man, wander into the forest, and decorate one right there instead. Thanks to Jamie, Chris and Kate!

Sending Christmas Cards to Strangers
Переглядів 4,1 тис.4 роки тому
Most British people under 35 have abandoned the Christmas Card, which means many people are likely being overlooked this season and not receiving a single festive greeting. I tried to change that, by sending Christmas cards to random dresses all over the UK.

Why Japan hate tourists
whats the music that starts at the part where he unboxes his prizes?
Love the Storytelling. Really enjoyed it. Keep it up and be patient (give it time), eventually the Algorithm and more people with notice. Subbed.
You know who is half asleep chris
Lovely film. If you ever upload more consistently, this channel will blow up.🔝
Start a training plan with 10% increase per week. Pls don’t do this impulsive version and get injured and unmotivated.
The shot with the telescope and the shot with the top spinning were just masterclass shots to a novice with a camera like me. Well done
missed you and your videos brother
always a treat when you upload Andrew. I was in Berlin for 2 days last year and would like to go back. Enjoyed the article!
Amazing as always!
That was a lot of fun! I can't wait to see your article published in National Geographic!
Sick editing broski
Nice, another banger, Andrew! Love the music and pacing of the video! How was the trip?
Congrats on completing 1000k!hope you have completed your million miles now!!
I was born in Cardiff and left when I was a teenager. I honestly don’t remember this story. Love it. Wales land of giants. I mean rugby players 😂. Thank you for up loading. Fabulous ❤
Man i thought this video is from like big stories or other big channel. Is well made thought👍🏽👍🏽
Diolch a fair go cymru
Did the same. Got shin splints. Be careful!
J'en veux un de même yé assez beau
What is your accent? You sound like someone I know from Swansea 😂
I'm surprised the fundamentalists haven't made conspiracies about the Cardiff Giant yet
My brother and sister use to go there years ago we would climb all way to the top tower beautiful church with a lush view.
i watched this video then I read The Little Friend. just finished it. Hely Hull is right up there with my favorite literary characters of all time. thanks for the gift.
CHILL DUD5😮
This is a lovely video. Thank you for putting these up.
Hello, I just want to make an observation. Most of current Georgian buildings of Bath were not built until 1760. The design of the building during a time of tax would have allowed for this thought and would not look like they do now. I would not build a house for someone to say, hang on what's up with the non window. I would check your buildings you have picked and check them against the bombs which hit during the blitz in ww2.
Your videos are always so calming, it's a shame you didn't get the Donna Tartt book in 2023 though!
Exellent, loved it.
My favourite way of avoiding the window tax for two windows was just to knock out the middle part and make one big window. Double the window, half the tax.
Loved this one Andrew. Your videos always have such care. Thank you
My favorite lowkey UA-camr! I love this Video Andrew. I’m intrigued by Donna Tart now, and a bit concerned why she didn’t publish another book… I hate reading. But now I want to read “the secret history” Was the Finch random at first? It’s so sad to hear about how Fabritivs not only lost his life, but most of his art. Very lovely video. 2024 is going to be a good year for creators, including you 🙂❤️
I particularly loooved this one 🤩🥰
I would fall over. My core strength is sadly deficient.
Love your attention to detail--all the fun camera angles, the pacing, the narrative you tell. Nice to see a bit of your life in Bath too. I always enjoy your videos.
An Andrew Made A Film and Donna Tartt crossover is what the world needed. Excellent film!
Brilliant work, as always, m8 🥂 Pigeons #1 and #2 deserve an Oscar.
<3 love it. ...where are you Donna???
Eyyy, always fun to see your own country from the perspective of a visitor. Hope you had a good time! I used to work at a On Demand printing company, and nearly daily we'd print The Goldfinch, so it's definitely a popular art work here as well. Didn't know about the sad ending of the painter, though.
Great to see you've made us another film.... keep them coming! 👍
Just like the Donna Tartt fans, I wait patiently for your uploads. They are always a welcome surprise.
My mother is English, Dad's Welsh, but I was born in Australia. I LONG to go to Europe and be the beautiful cold... thank you for the walk through adventure Andrew ☺️ (Also, good taste in art, I quite like Mr. Finch too).
Well worth waiting for. Thank you, Andrew. What a lovely Christmas gift.
Next goal: Run 1000 km per year. (I just realized to my own surprise that I run about 2500 km per year.)
Challenge accepted (2,500 km a year is crazy! How long have you been running for?)
@@AndrewMadeAFilm I am now 50 years old and I started at about age 32. Trail running is my most important hobby. As I have an office job, running is a much needed physical compensation for the desk sitting job. I live in a somewhat rural region of Germany. So lots of landscape with forested hills, pastures, acres, ... to discover while running. I run almost every day. Especially in winter it makes me feel better to get a short 8 km run at lunch break. Daylight and fresh air in the dark season against winter blues...
Welcome back!!
He's back. Ladies and gentlemen,He's back !!!! And Andrew, did you try talking to pigeons?? I think they'll like you.
If you like books where the main character dies in the first page and you spend the rest of the book trying to understand how it happened you MUST read Chronicle of a Death Foretold by G G Marquez! You know the main character is going to be killed in the first line!!!! I never know what to expect when you upload a video, but they are always fascinating! Keep up the work!
thank you for this video! i love Donna Tartt and get so excited every time somebody i follow mentions her ☺
